Multi-sensory image
PROTOTYPE
Listen:

"URSA MINOR, URSA MAJOR and POLARIS" is a prototype of a multisensory image that combines visual art with the potential of a sensory experience.
The work presents a symbolic story about the constellations of Ursa Minor and Great Bear and the Polar Star, and its uniqueness lies in inviting the viewer to interact not only with sight, but also with other senses.
The painting can be viewed and touched to discover different textures and shapes that reflect the structure of the constellations. The experience will be enriched with additional senses – you will be able to feel the subtle changes in the temperature of the painting, immerse yourself in a scent inspired by space, and hear an audio recording that dynamically changes depending on the areas you touch.
Multisensory , or multi-sensory. Engages:
• Sight: The image shows the Great and Little Dippers and the star Polaris, shown in beautiful shades of blue with a superimpasto texture.
• Touch: Thanks to the clear structure, blind people can “see” the image with their hands, feeling the outlines of the stars and the composition.
• Temperature: The image and stars have different temperatures – the stars reach around 40°C and Polaris 50°C, while the rest of the image remains cool (8-10°C).
• Fragrance: The delicate aroma of ozone, reminiscent of the freshness of the sky, completes the experience.
• Sound: In the headphones you can hear a general description of the image, its colors, structure and temperatures. When you touch a specific star, its description is played: name, size, brightness and distance from Earth.
1. Colors and atmosphere: •
The painting emanates intense shades of blue, which reflect a night sky full of depth and peace. The blue background is richly structured, which gives the impression of infinity of space. • The vibrating light of the stars, marked with golden dots and rays, adds dynamics and delicacy in contrast to the strong texture.
2. Texture and structure: •
A thick layer of oil paints with the addition of a thickener creates superimpasto, which gives the image clarity and dimension. This solution allows you to not only see, but also "feel" the relief of the sky and the contours of the stars. • The expressive lines defining the shapes of the Great and Little Bears emphasize the harmony between space and nature.
3. Composition: •
The stars have been placed with exceptional precision, in accordance with the actual arrangement of the Great and Little Bear constellations. Polaris, the Pole Star, is the focal point of the composition, both visually and symbolically, standing out above the other elements. • The lines defining the bears are subtle but legible, creating a balance between realism and abstraction.
4. Symbolism: •
Polaris, as a guiding star, symbolizes hope, stability, and direction, which gives the image a deep, universal meaning. • The use of she-bears connects the cosmic order with earthly nature, building a bridge between heaven and earth.
5. Technique: •
Oil paints combined with a thickener give not only a three-dimensional effect, but also a sense of organicity and movement, as if the texture were breathing with the image. • The light applied in the places of the stars is subtly reflected, which gives them the impression of a delicate glow.

“Minor Ursa, Major Ursa and Polaris” is a work that balances between visual aesthetics and a tactile and symbolic experience. Its structure and the depth of the blue background combined with the stars, which attract the eye and encourage touch, make it extremely original.
The multisensory image combines visual beauty and technological innovation, enabling interaction on many levels.
is a step towards the future of art that engages and moves audiences on multiple levels, creating a fully immersive experience.

The painting fulfills an educational function through a unique combination of art, technology and science that makes the painting not only beautiful, but also interactive and educational.
The central motif is two bear silhouettes , the outlines of which form the constellations of the Great and Little Bear. Dark blue colors with delicate tonal transitions create a night atmosphere, and the stars create a starting point for the imagination.
The symbolism of the painting is universal. Bears, depicted as star constellations, connect the earthly with the elusive and cosmic – creating a beautiful bridge between nature and the universe.
Aesthetic impressions: • The painting, despite its simplicity, attracts with its intense energy and thoughtful symbolism. • Contemplating it, the viewer can feel peace, but also inspiration flowing from a cosmic perspective.
